Welcome to my world of movement and creation.
I am Yeri Anarika, a dance artist born in Mexico and based in Berlin and the Uckermark (North Brandenburg). With more than 25 years of international experience, I share my passion for the art of dance in connection with other arts as a performer, creative director and teacher.
My passion is to set creative processes in action through dance, using contemporary themes in order to better understand the world in which we live and to achieve a sensitive understanding of our world.
Creativity & Movement

Performing projects
The scenic projects merge dance with contemporary aesthetics, music and multimedia. With a focus on diverse universal themes, we work across borders and involve the team of artists invited to each project as well as the audience.

InYourBody
InYourBody portrays the dual nature of human beings — between creative innovation and the relentless pursuit of economic success through power and control. The performance combines dance, cello, electronic music, and multimedia to explore the impact of standardized global food production on both people and the environment.
The video installation “Synthese” deepens this exploration by connecting industrial food systems with alternative philosophical perspectives.
The Piece is adaptable — as a stage performance or presented across different spaces.

Desarmados
In Disarmed, a dance piece rich in imagination and symbolism, identity, power, and surrender are explored. The dancers Yeri Anarika and Pablo von Sternenfels question—through dance and physical comedy—the timeless relationship between the masculine and the feminine.

The piece reveals vulnerability, flirtation, rawness, and the fusion of both energies. It speaks of love, fear, desire, and longing. With humor and sensitivity, the performers reflect on and challenge the ways men and women from different cultures assume and perform their roles.

TheWall
A performance that encourages thinking about the physical and invisible divisions that divide our globalized societies.
The choreography is enriched by the fusion of dance with content, mexican rhythms, electroacoustic music and multimedia art.
A cast of 14 Mexican dancers brings this proposal to life. Curated by Elisa Carrillo Cabrera and Mikhail Kaniskin, the work is a project of the Elisa Carrillo Cabrera Foundation supported by EFIARTES. Premiered at the Danzatlan Festival on June 2022 in Mexico City.

Dance
philosophy
Within this univers of expression, connection and freedom, I transcend boundaries and discover empowerment. My focus is a path of inspiration, nurturing the spark of perception and intuition. Each step is a landscape where I paint my essence on the canvas of time.

Hello,
I am Yeri Anarika
I am a choreographer and teacher of contemporary dance, yoga and body arts. Since 26 years, I have been passionate about exploring movement and creation. My professional training as a dance performer in Mexico and France marked the beginning of my enriching and multicultural journey.
Throughout my career, I have collaborated with renowned artists and companies, as well as teaching workshops and directing works in several cities around the world.

I am convinced that dance and the arts of the body should be part of education and self-knowledge in people's lives. Therefore, the projects I develop promote dance in the communities and bring dance closer to the new generations.
UMtanz
Community
UMtanz is an association that promotes and brings contemporary dance and body arts closer to the community, especially in the Uckermark region of Germany. It develops cultural education projects and platforms for professional artists.
Expression, society & movement
UMtanz promotes cultural education through contemporary and urban dance, cultivating sensitivity, creativity and coordination in children and individuals in the Uckermark and Berlin. It has a critical and inclusive approach, bringing dance to new audiences and artists.

As founder of the association, I lead the conception and execution of creative projects, collaborating with talented teams and ensuring operational coordination.
