Dance, in combination with other arts, can contribute to an overall process of development in society as a result of its view of the world and its approach to creativity. Cultural education generates a constructive basis for encounter and debate, for coexistence and cooperation.
I think it is important, if we wish our children to succeed and reach adulthood as well-rounded individuals, that we endeavour to provide high quality cultural education and projects with relevant thematic support to our youth.
Since 2007 I share formats of creation and appreciation of the arts with children, starting with dance. The premise behind each project is to open up areas of experience and development through which children and young people can get to know themselves and learn different ways of engaging with others and which will comprehensively foster the development of their personalities.
To witness the development of presence and personality that everyone achieves during an stage or film project is simply amazing.
In 2009 I founded the association UMtanz e.V., with which I am currently opening space for dance in the German countryside region of the Uckermark. UMtanz e.V. stands for dance and dance film and is open to all other contemporary art forms. The concern of the UMtanz team is to develop cultural education projects as well as to develop productions for a broad audience.
