Yeri Anarika

is a choreographer, dancer, performer and teacher of dance and body arts such as yoga, pilates and martial arts.

She is currently working on the project CINEMADANCE at Dock Digital Berlin, she is running a community project call Stadt|Land|Mensch and preparing new projects. 

 

She graduated from the Academia de la Danza Mexicana del INBAL and continued her education with Xavier Francis in CDMX.  In 1997 she obtained a scholarship from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to continue her artistic studies at the Centre National de la Danse Conemporaine d'Angers, in France. 

 

She has worked as a performer-creator in several companies, including her work for 8 years with Constanza Macras in Berlin, but her experience also includes working with choreographers from Frankfurt & Rambert Ballet at the Landestheater Linz. As well as having danced pieces by Rui Horta and worked with Lanonima Imperial in Barcelona and with Tannia Pares-Salas and Alberto de Leon in Mexico. 

 

Yeri Anarika has collaborated with important directors of classical and contemporary opera in Germany.

 

The interest in synthesis and transmission of experience overseas led Yeri Anarika to create the workshop " puntos de encuentro", which she has taught since 2011 in different states of Mexico and has been invited to various places in the world as a teacher: Singapore, Israel, Greece, Spain, Austria and several German cities.

 

During her workshops she shares with dance makers elements of her own synthesis and artistic and technical vision. 

 

Since the creation of CEPRODAC she has been invited as a guest artist and has created two works with the second Elenco: "Now(H)ERE" and "QUIJOTE Siglo XXI Juegos de Artificio".  

 

In 2019 I participate with the work NOW(H)ERE in the festival Danzatlán and then came the idea of producing a work with the theme of the Wall, commissioned by Elisa Carrillo Cabrera and Mikhail Kaniskin. In the summer of 2022 the premiere of #The_Wall was celebrated, opening the Festival Danzatlan in CDMX a work created under the choreography and artistic direction of Yeri Anarika, the multimedia of Josue Abraham Palma and the musical composition of the Brothers Andi and Hannes Teichmman, with the special participation of Elisa Carrillo Cabrera and together with a cast of 14 wonderful dancers,

 

During the pandemic Yeri Anarika made together with Elisa Carrillo the dance video "Fly" and she frequently supports the Elisa Carrillo Foundation in its work with new Mexican talents. 

 

Since 2007 to date, Yeri has also done important work in art education and community projects. She has directed numerous projects with children and young people in Berlin, Dresden, Weimar, Stralsund, Brandenburg, Holland and Belgium. In 2009 she founded the dance association UMtanz e.V. with which she is creating community and professional projects, especially in the northern region of Germany, in the Uckermark.

 

She also enjoys collaborating with video artists, and since 2008 she also directs video dance and documentaries.

 

Since 2021 she started to work on developing Podcast formats.

 

Yeri Anarika was born in Mexico City, has 2 sons and lives since 2000 with Max Renne, German orchestra conductor. She lives since 2003 between Berlin and the Uckermark, (a region in the north of Germany).  She is the daughter of Jesus Vargas and Luz Imelda Sanchez, both theater and poetry lovers. She has two brothers, a big family in Mexico and a small family in Germany.
